Glen J. Cooper, CBI, CBA, BVAL is President of Maine Business Brokers, which he and his wife co-founded in 1981. He is also Vice President and Broker Associate of New Hampshire Business Sales, a strategic partner of Maine Business Brokers.
Glen is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), a designation awarded by the International Business Brokers Association, a Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) and a Business Valuator Accredited for Litigation (BVAL), designations of the Institute of Business Appraisers, and a licensed real estate broker in both Maine and New Hampshire.
In addition to business brokerage and business appraisal, Glen has an extensive background in commercial and investment real estate and was southern Maine's First Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) of the Realtors' National Marketing Institute of the National Association of Realtors from 1985 to 1992.
Cooper has been a full-time business broker since he sold his first business in 1979. He writes and speaks frequently on small business topics. His day-to-day activity no longer involves selling commercial real estate or preparing fee-based business valuation reports, except as it serves our business brokerage seller clients. Lee Edwards is Operations Director. She is a licensed associate real estate broker in Maine and joined Maine Business Brokers in 1998. She has owned and operated her own business and managed two others. Her background includes work as a business broker and extensive work with non-profit organizations.

Bradley L. Kaplan is Vice President. He has a 25-year track record as a business intermediary, handling valuation and sales of larger businesses. Brad was co-founder of Mathurin & Kaplan, a mid-market mergers and acquisitions firm in Portland for twenty years.
He is a licensed real estate broker in Maine and New Hampshire, obtained a BS degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts and his MBA from Bryant College in Rhode Island. His additional background in commercial bank lending gives him an in-depth understanding of business valuation and business transfer issues of closely held family businesses. Edward P. Settino, Jr. is an Associate Broker covering southern and western Maine as well as southern New Hampshire through our strategic alliance with New Hampshire Business Sales. He was the founder of Metropolitan Parking Systems, Inc., one of New England’s largest and most professionally managed parking companies, managing over fifty sites from Maine to Rhode Island. Ed started this company in 1977 and sold it in 1998. He has a BS degree in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston.

J. Mark Koshliek, Esq. is an Associate Broker with extensive experience in business operations. Mark joined Maine Business Brokers having prior experience as a business intermediary with another local firm. His former career spanned 23 years in the wholesale manufacture of bread and other baked goods.

David W. Bartholomew is Associate Broker and also President and owner of Rock Coast Personnel of Portland, Maine, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm. Prior to purchasing Rock Coast Personnel, David was business development director of a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based research and consulting firm. He was also assistant vice president of sales for a disability reinsurance consulting group and a regional sales representative for a large international producer of mechanical piping components.

John Hirschauer, MBA, CFP is owner of MDH Financial Group, Ltd., an independent financial planning firm. John is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with securities and insurance licenses. Presently he is focusing on estate planning for closely held business owners.
John has a BA and an MBA in finance from De Paul University in Chicago and for thirty-three years held positions in credit, finance, sales and human resources in a major Dow Jones industrial company. John F. Dyer, MBA, is an Associate Broker with extensive experience in accounting and finance. He had a 20-year career as a CPA with both a national firm in Boston and a small Maine accounting firm in Portland. He served as CFO for Federal Distributors, Inc., a Lewiston, Maine beverage wholesaler. John was one of the original trustees of a self-insured workers compensation trust, and one of the founders of an offshore workers compensation reinsurance company.

Brian D. Hanson is a new associate broker with 17 years of entrepreneurial experience. Brian joined Maine Business Brokers after opening and operating numerous businesses in Maine, New Hampshire as well as in Novosibirsk, Russia. Some of his businesses include restaurants, nightclubs, wholesale seafood, web businesses and sporting goods stores. Brian’s businesses have been featured in local print, TV and radio as well as Time Magazine and Good Morning America.
Brian was born and raised in northern Maine and his broad range of business experiences give him a unique understanding of Maine’s small business owners and buyers.
